Live Illustration at the Henley Royal Regatta
Earlier this month, we attended the Henley Royal Regatta where we illustrated portraits of charity patrons and Regatta guests. We were based within a beautiful pavilion hosted by Copas Events to support Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
Going to Henley marks another milestone in our relationship with the charity, which supports children and families with complex, lifelong conditions and the specialist nurses who care for them. The illustrations were a great opportunity to help raise funds and awareness for the charity and the incredible work they do.
We’re honoured to support fundraising for the charity as huge fans of Roald Dahl’s stories and Sir Quentin Blake’s accompanying illustrations. They inspired us to get creative from a young age, so it’s amazing for us to be able to support a charity whose namesake played a key role in our own creative journey.
It was brilliant to go to the world’s best-known rowing regatta and be among the 300,000 annual visitors of the event, often frequented by the Elite and the Royal Family. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see or illustrate any of Royal Family, but what a treat and honour that would be. Here’s to hoping we go back next year!
