Bertie's Brilliant Transformation
Bertie's in Elland, south of Halifax, is one of the area’s most popular venues. It's been host to countless celebrations for over thirty-years. Although extremely successful, one quiet week forced the team to think creatively. What could they do to re-engage the public? After scratching a few heads, they had an epiphany in the shape of cake. They could transform the ground floor space into a charming and welcoming tea room.
Following an £85,000 investment to reawaken their space, we were delighted to be invited to their VIP Launch Party to learn more about their story. We're always game for an afternoon of sophistication.
At the event, we tried a range of delicious canapes, sandwiches, scones and cakes! As you can imagine, we were quite full by the time we'd finished. As well as tea, the new lounge also offers barista brewed coffee. We went for our favourite type - a cappuccino. We can't wait to return and try the afternoon experience again.
We love that Bertie's took destiny into their own hands and steered the business to fresh beginnings with a glamorous tea room. This is testament to the team's passion for business and their heritage. This offering, coupled with their event-hosting skills, will ensure Bertie's is a truly special destination. When you visit Bertie's, you know you're welcome and will be taken care of.
The venue officially opened on the 28th May, meaning it is now open to the public! You really do need to see the beauty of this building with your own eyes. You can book online or visit Monday to Friday (10am-4pm) and show your support!
